CWA Local 1040 Men's Committee Holds Inaugural Back to School Supply Drive!

At CWA Local 1040, we strive to support the communities where our members live and work. This is why when our newly established Men’s Committee raised the idea of a Back to School Supply Drive to help children in our areas, we were all in!

The Men’s Committee launched their drive towards the end of June and collected hundreds of school items such as backpacks, notebooks, crayons, pencils, glue, erasers, sharpeners, rulers, markers, and so much more! In addition to all the items collected, the committee was also able to secure monetary donations that were utilized to purchase even more school supplies. The supplies were recently distributed to the Newark, Trenton, and Camden school districts and were greatly appreciated by the schools and their students!

We would like to thank our union and community members who donated supplies, held their own collections at their worksites, and did everything they could to support this incredible initiative! We would also like to extend tremendous congratulations and thanks to our Men’s Committee for their tireless efforts to make this a reality for students in our area. Your vision and execution of this endeavor sets an example for all of us and we cannot wait to see what you do next!
