What are CWA Unity Days?

Over the last several weeks, CWA Local 1040 members throughout the state of New Jersey have held events called "Unity Day" at their work sites. We are very excited about the response from these days and are looking forward to more of these events happening in the near future.

While we are aware of the purpose of our Unity Days, we wanted to share more about them with our community. These events are an opportunity for our members to gather together to break bread, build solidarity and comradery, discuss important issues at the workplace, provide essential information to our members, and much more. With ongoing contract negotiations occurring for our state facilities and constant attacks on organized labor from the Freedom Foundation and other sources, gatherings like this are the perfect way for us to stand together and plan how we fight back. We know that our strength comes in our collective power and our Unity Days provide the perfect outlet for us to build that power.

We would like to thank all of our members that have put in the time and work to plan these incredible events. Without you, none of this would be possible! If you are a member and would like to hold your own Unity Day, please contact your branch president to start planning and building your own collective power!
