Today, the Civil Service Commission approved a one-year extension of the Telework Pilot Program.
This extension was expected. As negotiations with the State for a new contract continue, telework remains a priority for the bargaining team. The action today by the CSC does not change our demands or alter our approach at the bargaining table. We will continue to fight for a robust telework program that is inclusive and administered fairly.
We welcome this move by the CSC today in that it provides peace of mind to those members who currently participate in telework. Those with current telework arrangements will not have their schedules disrupted come July 1. We at the same time recognize that more work is to be done at the bargaining table and we are committed to that work.
