Virtual Town Hall with Renowned Labor Leader, Ellen Cassedy, 3/21
There is no shortage of stories to tell when it comes to women’s experiences. But what stories are told, and who has had access to the mic?
For our celebration of Women’s History Month this year, we would like to highlight our storytellers. Thank you for your creativity, your pursuit of truth, your provocation of thought and feeling, your imparting of culture, and your commitment to women's rights.
As CWA members, we are primed to share the stories of working women. As such, the CWA Human Rights Department is pleased to announce that it will be presenting a very special event this Women’s History Month. On Tuesday, March 21, at 7pm EST, the department will host a virtual town hall with Ellen Cassedy, a labor leader and author of the renowned 9to5 Movement.
The 9 to 5 Movement was not only the inspiration for the iconic film and song, 9 to 5, but it is a testament to the fact that anyone can organize—and win. Ellen will share her experience of organizing women office workers to victory after victory.
We invite CWA members and all union siblings to this incredible opportunity to hear firsthand from a woman who was at the forefront of a workers' movement that lives on today.
